Goldenrod is the masterfully crafted combination of the crisp forwardness of a breakfast coffee and the bold finish of a dinner coffee to create an all-day sipping coffee. It is an incredibly smooth and balanced coffee that pairs well with a sweet crusty pastry. With a heavy body and mild roast flavor this coffee is a delight with hints of milk chocolate and caramel and a smooth finish. The shipping took longer than expected but that’s somewhat understandable due to the weather. The coffee is not what I expected either. In my opinion, it’s roasted too dark. I can taste where it’s trying to go and I desperately want it. I might be wrong, but it doesn’t appear that the coffee was roasted fresh. It has a best by date of January 2025 which suggests that it was roasted in January. Not March. The bloom is also quite telling that it isn’t freshly roasted coffee. I bought this on recommendation from Reddit. My order came whole bean vs chemex. It takes about a week for the delivery from their warehouse about 15 miles away. I was at Sprouts looking to pick up some whole bean Columbian and when my usual brand wasn't available I spotted this medium roast blend. It's true to the description with the burnt caramel flavor and very smooth. It also seems low acid which is a plus if you drink your coffee black but I add a good shot of half and half to mine and the body and flavor is wonderful. Really impressed. I was a lifelong Equator fan but I saw Heirloom's billboard off the 880 freeway so I decided to give it a try. Ok, I must say, this is something amazing. Goldenrod is now my go-to coffee and I drink it every day with my Kalita and sometimes as an espresso. Its so easy to drink and brews super thick.
