About This Coffee
From the Cupping Table Big blackberry aromatics led the charge, with a rose note that made the whole cup feel elegant and lifted. The acidity reminded us of sparkling cranberry juice—bright, juicy, and super clean. It’s the kind of coffee that keeps evolving as it cools. Sweet, vibrant, and really fun to taste. Producer Info Grown in Kenya's high-altitude Nyeri County, Kaiguri Coffee is part of a cooperative of nearly 5,000 small-scale farmers. Processed at the Kaiguri factory, cherries are hand-sorted, depulped, fermented, and dried on raised beds, ensuring a clean and complex cup. As a member of the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society and Kenya Cooperative Coffee Exporters (KCCE), Kaiguri supports fair pricing and sustainable farming practices. Today, that passion for both the craft of coffee and the care of people form the strong foundation of the company. What began as cultural intrigue has evolved into an intentional commitment to invest in and learn from coffee producers around the world. Your purchase helps to elevate our farming partners as we strive to support their goals and dreams to create a sustainable supply chain that honors people and the environment. We’re honored to get to be a part of this work and humbled that you’ve chosen to join us on the journey. Thank you! -BRENDON MAXWELL Testimonials "I have purchased bagged coffee from Utopian Roastery for years. I currently have a subscription of three coffees (I like to rotate the flavors daily) but I like trying new blends, too. I appreciate knowing that the farmers who grow my beans are compensated fairly and I like buying an affordable, high quality product from a local roaster." Amy Peckinpaugh "Ethically sourced coffee, wonderfully roasted. Great healthy decaf options. Customer support is helpful and responsive when needed." Jackson Fisher "Have been ordering coffee from here for a few years now. Staff are extremely friendly and responsive, and quick to correct any problems. The Obsidian coffee continues to be a hit with the coffee drinker in the household." Paul Schreiber Join our Mailing List Contact Form
