About This Coffee

This is coffee as it was before anyone started arguing about acidity. The Kraken is our darkest roast — deliberately pushed to the edge, where oils surface, sweetness darkens, and intensity takes over. Built from the same Brazil and Uganda base as our Gunpowder Blend, this version is taken further, right to the limit of what we consider extra strong. Expect a heavy, powerful cup with deep dark chocolate, smoky edges and burnt sugar bitterness. Acidity is stripped back almost entirely, replaced by weight, punch and that familiar, nostalgic “proper coffee” character many people grew up on. There are hints of aromatics still clinging on — just enough to remind you this is fresh, well-roasted coffee — but make no mistake: this is bold, uncompromising and intentionally dark. Not modern. Not subtle. Exactly the point.
