Gabriel Coffee
Chatswood NSW, Australia
The Karindundu Factory, located in the lowland region of Mt. Kenya is one kilometre from the town of Karatina in Kenya's famous coffee region Nyeri District. Working with a total of 513 active members of which 349 are male and 163 are female. Due to numerous geographical challenges in Kenya, coffee production primarily relies on small farmers. Each member has an average of 300 trees and 0.5 acres where they grow other crops alongside their coffee. For this reason, they rely on the Karindundu processing mill that offers processing and sales of their coffee. After harvesting, farmers deliver ripe cherries to the Karindundu washing station where they undergo a traditional washed process.
