La Barranca returns to our menu for the fifth year. This washed lot from Huehuetenango opens up to warm brown sugar sweetness, sweet notes of fresh red currants, with an orange zest acidity. This lot is a prime example of the quality coffees produced by multigenerational producers the Vides family. The growing conditions in the high valleys of Huehuetenango, the cherry characteristics of the bourbon and typica grown on the Vides family farm, and the skilled processing at their mill combine for a cup that is as well rounded as it is structured and expressive. Our favorite characteristics of Guatemalan coffee are present in each cup of La Barranca.
