Flower Child Coffee
Oakland, CA, USA
Gargari Gutiti has arrived in fine-form. This cup shines with a sparkling acidity & a delicate yet well annunciated floral tone. The fruit notes hit with goji, strawberry & citrus. Gargari Gutiti exhibits an elevated sweetness and acidity that dances upon the palate. In summation, it's clean, bright and complex. Gargari Gutiti lots were made up of some 3,200 farmers in the region. They are primarily cultivating Landrace 74110. Given that this community is pooling from their small farms, we can say that this lot is nearly 100% 74110. This variety was selected over the years for it's production value in yield, disease resistance and cup quality. The 74110 coffee variety is a Metu Bishari selection made in the forests of the Illubabor Zone in western Ethiopia in 1974. The Jimma Agricultural Research Center (JARC) selected these particular varieties after years of testing and countless trials with hundreds of other variety's and cultivars. After years of studies and trials, this coffee variety has proven to perform well and be profitable for farmers. Decades in the making, this lot shows what community work can look like with finest details illuminated in every cup. Seriously, this is a vibrant Yirgacheffe, floral, tea-like with articulated berry acidity, you gotta try.
