Masha coffee washing station shares its name with sub-hill upon which it stands. The average smallholder in Burundi produces a relatively small amount of coffee, with an average of 250 trees. Each tree yields an average of 1.5kg of cherry, so each producer sells about 250-300kg of cherry annually. After sorting, the cherry is pulped, dry fermented for up to 12 hours, and then washed in clean water, soaked from 12-14 hours. This lot is a classic washed African coffee with clean fruity notes of redcurrant and pleasant acidity, not super aggressive (lime acidity). Filter is very clean and espresso very balanced.
