India has a rich history of producing coffee, but has recently gained attention for its improved quality, diverse selection, and updated processing techniques. Our goal is to offer a coffee from India that defies stereotypes of the traditional Monsoon process, which can diminish brightness and acidity. Instead, we present a well-balanced coffee that appeals to both traditional and modern palates. Hulikere Estate, located in the beautiful region of Chikmagalur, Karnataka, in southern India, boasts a rich history spanning more than a century. The estate is led by the visionary, Hulikere Shreedev. At elevations ranging from 1,100 to 1,370 meters above sea level, Hulikere Estate benefits from the ideal terroir for cultivating premium Indian coffee that is meticulously hand picked at their peak ripeness. Diverse varieties adorn the sprawling 100-hectare estate, including Selections 795, 9, 5B, Chandragiri, and Robusta CxR. The estate’s commitment to quality is evident in its stringent processing, where cherries are harvested and processed on the same day. Through a carefully orchestrated process involving float removal, disc pulping, natural fermentation, and meticulous drying on clay brick-lined yards, each coffee harvest embodies the essence of Hulikere’s dedication to excellence.
