About This Coffee

The Candelaria Estate includes over 148 acres of coffee near the town of Palmares in Alajuela Province, which is part of Costa Rica's Western Valley. The Otto Klotti family, of Swiss and Costa Rican heritage has operated the estate since 1965. Currently they employing a full-time agronomist and follow the highest environmental standards, with a shade coverage of at least 60% primary forest and holding several certifications. The family and estate are very involved in the local community and have sponsored a school and soccer field, among other contributions.
