Vibrant Coffee Roasters
Philadelphia, PA, USA
We’re graced with another “Gold Washed” processed coffee, a now famous process from producer Edwin Noreña. This time it’s the Gold Washed Anaerobic Gesha—filled with juicy, sweet, and floral flavors that will challenge what you usually think about coffee. If you remember Sr. Noreña’s Gold Washed Anaerobic Pink Bourbon from 2021, then you’ll want to try this one as well. Up until we tasted that Pink Bourbon, our favorite coffee we’d ever had was Passenger Coffee’s 2018 Panama Elida Estate Green Tip Gesha, but that Pink Bourbon took its place. Now, we have this year’s crown jewel—the sweet, incredibly juicy Gold Washed Anaerobic Gesha. It once again features 280 hours of fermentation in this now famous "Gold Washed" process, which gives it some truly unbelievable flavors—lemon, lime, herb, and floral notes, plus some tropical fruits like cherry, plum, and peach. Although it’s very similar in flavor to that Pink Bourbon, it’s just slightly more hop-forward and there’s a little less citrus flavor. Think along the lines of a super juicy, hoppy IPA beer but minus any alcohol taste or any resinous funk. It’s one of our favorites for good reason!
