Roastwell Coffee Roasters
East Amwell, NJ, USA
Perfection is attained by slow degrees; it takes the hand of time... Voltaire Our flagship coffee. We’ve repurposed REAL Kentucky bourbon whiskey barrels with the deep earthy flavors of Sumatra coffee to create a coffee that’s just an amazing experience anytime of day. Roasted to a full medium, a deep mahogany color for that oaky, smoky, bourbon experience in every cup. All of our Barn Find™ Barrel Aged Coffees are aged in REAL, re-purposed oak barrels that once held the spirit or wine we're infusing the beans with. The barrels are stored in our 1830's post & beam barn and carefully monitored while the beans age for up to 3 months. Once our master roaster determines they're at the peak of flavor, we uncask & roast them to perfection. This coffee comes from the North Sumatra province in Indonesia, one of the largest coffee-producing regions by volume on the island. Coffee here is usually wet-hulled, a processing method unique to Indonesia due to unpredictable rains during the drying season. Once pulped, coffee is dried to a certain moisture level before hulling. After that, the coffee is dried the rest of the way before being prepared for export. Small, family-owned farms are the norm here, though larger estates do exist.
