About This Coffee
Lactic acidity with blackcurrant jelly sweetness and notes of apricot. Vughole washing station is managed and operated by women from the Coopade co-op. In 2016 Coopade created a women’s section to allow female coffee farmers to control and develop from growing to exporting. Coopade has 15 washing stations, 7 of which were built by the women’s section of the co-op. This lot which the women called Kawa Amaha - ‘Coffee of Hope’ in the Kinande language. The hope is to improve the livelihoods of themselves and the families around them. The station employs 179 women from the surrounding villages and are currently developing a coffee tree nursery the trees from which will distribute to smallholders around the region.
