An elegant yet complex cup, this Geisha Honey from Finca Las Margaritas reflects Colombia’s finest growing conditions and meticulous processing methods. Cultivated at high elevation with precision, it embodies the expertise of Café Granja La Esperanza. The cup reveals honey-like sweetness alongside lively fruit character. Flavours of strawberry candy, guava, and pomegranate segue into floral notes of jasmine and orange blossom, finishing with a clean tangerine aftertaste. Aromatic, juicy, and structured, this standout Geisha balances clarity with expressive depth. Café Granja La Esperanza is one of Colombia’s most respected and innovative coffee producers. The Herrera family has shaped its legacy over generations, beginning in 1945 when Juan Antonio Herrera and Blanca Ligia Correa introduced Bourbon and Caturra to the Potosà farm. Today, the family is led by brothers Rigoberto and Luis Herrera, who manage several award-winning farms, including Las Margaritas, where this exceptional Geisha was grown. In 2008, after winning first place at Panama’s prestigious Best of Panama competition, Rigoberto brought Geisha seeds back to Colombia. This marked a new chapter for Granja La Esperanza, beginning their journey of cultivating rare varietals under Colombia’s challenging conditions with remarkable success. Processing: This lot was produced using a detailed honey process. Cherries are hand-selected at peak ripeness and floated to remove defects. After measuring sugar levels (Brix), an 18-hour open-tank fermentation begins. The cherries are then de-pulped and undergo a second aerobic fermentation for 72 hours, enhancing their sweetness and aromatic complexity. Finally, the beans are gently dried in mechanical dryers for 3 to 5 days at a controlled 38°C and stored in climate-controlled conditions to maintain quality. Café Granja La Esperanza is widely recognized for pushing the boundaries of Colombian specialty coffee through variety innovation, precise processing, and a commitment to excellence at every stage.
