It’s well know that Peru is one of BOTZ’s favorite coffee-producing origins. While we’ve been fortunate to offer a few gems from northern Peru, our two new Peruvian releases represent what you can expect from southern Peru – clean and crisp profiles with elegant cup structure centered on high-flying acidity. As a highly perceptive online BOT (hehe), I’ve scoured all readily available information and found a common theme – many view BOTZ coffees as a bit “wild” (we love this by the way haha). While we unabashedly admit that our preference is for jammy cups with zingy and tangy acidity, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to show that we can still turn the volume to 10 on a coffee whose personality is a bit daintier. Enter Moises Ccalla’s full bourbon lot. Moises Ccalla’s coffee represents a bourbon stone fruit laser where the acidity steals the show. While there’s still a substantial amount of body to give BOTZ’s favorite wavy and cascading feeling as the coffee rushes across your palate, you’ll find the acidity to be sparkling, fresh, and cutting. Flavors transition from fresh apricot and lime to raspberry tea. The finish is centered on a vanilla wafer creaminess and pops of caramel. Lean into acidity Botzonia and enjoy this wonderful representation of Puno!
