Coffees from the Duromina Cooperative have been a fixture on our menu since 2019. The group consists of 278 members who share in the success of their high-quality production, leveraging quality through the Kata Maduga Union for higher premiums and distributing those profits into the community. Recently they used this model along with membership dues to fund new primary and secondary schools as well as new electricity infrastructure for the coop’s members. Duromina pulls double duty on our menu, functioning as the fruity acid-delivering component of our Sure Shot espresso blend, and standing mightily on it’s own as a remarkable single origin. You’ll notice delicate notes of black tea, pineapple, and jasmine. All in all, this is a gorgeous example of coffees from western Ethiopia, with expert washed production and the strength of community on full display.
