Don Eli Tematica is a honey processed catuai grown in the Terrazu region of Costa Rica by producer Carlos Montero. Varietal characteristics of catuai combine with this coffees expert processing to create a sweet, pillowy cup of coffee that expresses hints of guava and orange zest. Carlos purchased the land that is Don Eli Tematica in order to have a place to study sustainable agriculture. The coffee trees are planted among the indigenous growth that has always resided there. Carlos has been dedicated not to use any synthetic products on this farm - a practice that is nearly unheard of in Costa Rica. The only soil amendments used are made from byproducts coming from the same land. The dense ground vegetation and lush canopy make the farm look more like a rainforest. Tematica and the Don Eli mill attached to it are a remarkable project that we are proud to support.
