Why do we always love the peaberries from Kenya? Are they a tad easier to develop? Is there something magical about their uniformity? Does their shape encourage a perfect drum ride in the roaster? These are the BOTZ questions we seek. Despite lacking all the peaberry answers, we’re excited to offer a Kenyan coffee reminiscent of some of our favorite past brewing experiences. Marimira to us seems to offer a delicate back-and-forth between the famous double-fermented Kenyas of old (think intense berry/caramel) and the more “new-school” profiles, ones we robotically find to be a bit more intense in the citrus department with peachier sensations. Marimira leads with heavy cherry up front with stewed raspberry, but adds in a touch of fresh citrus and nectarine to complement the cup’s density, giving it a versatile fresh and crisp dimension (again…is this peaberry magic?!). As an added and slightly random benefit, we have found that weighing out the doses for our morning ritual with this coffee seems to be quite therapeutic. Nestled tightly together with the same size and shape, the peaberries always provide us with a sense of calm and order, giving us a grounded feeling of confidence before our pivotal first brew.  We hope you feel the same when you see the mini beans cascade onto your scale!***Please note - roasting and fulfillment will take place from 6/23 – 7/1. Beans will ship on 7/1 or 7/2 (with our hope of shipping earlier if we can)!***
