Finca Pampojila, perched on the southern edge of Lake Atitlán, combines over 150 years of heritage with modern innovation to produce exceptional specialty coffee. Revitalized by the Herrera family in 2012, the farm thrives in nutrient-rich volcanic soils, employing sustainable practices and meticulous processing to produce some of Guatemala's finest coffees. In the wake of Tropical Storm Agatha’s devastation, the Herreras revitalized the farm, planting Arabica varietals prized for their cup quality and resilience. Modernized post-harvest processing facilities were introduced to ensure that fermentation and drying meet the meticulous standards of specialty coffee. This commitment to excellence has propelled Finca Pampojila to the forefront of Guatemala’s coffee scene, earning recognition for its consistently high-quality output and diversity of flavor profiles. Every aspect of production reflects a harmonious balance of tradition, innovation, and environmental stewardship. Coffee cherries are harvested by hand at their peak ripeness and sun-dried under careful supervision, fostering a clean, sweet complexity. The farm’s dedication extends beyond its coffee to the land and community. Most of its property has been designated as a reserve under the Guatemalan Association of Private Nature Reserves (GAPNR), preserving the region’s native wildlife. The Rainforest Alliance certification further reflects the farm’s adherence to global standards for sustainability, while workers benefit from competitive wages, safe conditions, and access to essential services for their families.
