About This Coffee
Megadu Origin: Etiopia, Guji Variety: Ethiopian Heirloom Process: Natural Altitude: 1800 MASL Producer: Small hold farmers Flavour: Chocolate ice cream, Melon and Pistachio Description Named after the washing mill in the Guji region of Ethiopia. Ethiopia Meduga Natural is produced by the smallholder farmers who characterize the coffee production landscape of Ethiopia. In these southern regions of Ethiopia farmers pick coffee selectively, harvesting only ripe cherries individually by hand. Pickers rotate among the trees every eight to ten days, choosing only the cherries which are at peak ripeness. Natural processed coffee is transferred directly to raised drying beds. The ripe cherries are turned constantly as they dry in the sun. Meguda has notes of chokolade ice cream, fruity melon and the nuttiness of a pistachio while still staying very true to the classic Ethiopian profile, with lots of floral notes. This lot of Heirloom coffee underwent traditional Natural processing.
