About This Coffee

Café Capucas is a light roast coffee from Hondoras. You can really taste the undertones of nuts and fresh sweet fruit such as blueberries, apple and peach in this fruity coffee. The aftertaste is intense and pleasantly long with a taste of slightly dry grapes. Café Capucas is very suitable as a slow coffee, for a mildly aromatic coffee. With the cafetière you can make a slightly sweet coffee with hints of nuts. As an espresso, Café Capucas is sparklingly intense, ideal for lovers of a fruity espresso! Café Capucas comes from the San Pedro de Copan region of the Cocafcal in Honduras. The 75 farmers who have joined Cocafcal (Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada) have their plantations on and around Celaque Mountain. Calaque means "Bucket of water" and refers to the wetland area in the mountains where many rivers and streams run. The presence of water makes the area suitable for growing coffee. Many citrus trees grow to provide shade for the coffee bushes. The coffee is dried in a 'Solar Dryer'. This is a kind of greenhouse in which the coffee is dried using the sun. Because Capucas is remote, the members of the cooperative are supported in various ways, including technical assistance, education and a library.
