The first coffee trees arrived from the French West Indies in the Antilles in the late 18th century and were planted in the Santander area. It is currently the second world producer of Arabica coffee and the first in washed Arabicas. The department of Huila, where our coffee comes from and strategically located between the central and eastern branches of the Andes mountain range, is the largest producer in Colombia and the only one that has won the Cup of Excellence competition five times, the most prestigious and demanding competition worldwide. It is the so-called "new coffee axis" of South America that has a world-renowned quality of the grain. The Huila Coffee won the first quality contest held in Colombia by the National Federation of Coffee Growers in 2002, later in 2005 it won the Cup of Excellence and did it again up to 5 times.
