About This Coffee
I learned a fun little tidbit about the word “Timor.” It comes from the Malay word for “East” which means that this coffee is effectively from East East. There’s no relation to the Latin word of the same spelling which means “fear or dread.” This small island nation won its independence from both Portugal and Indonesia, even though the western side of the island (which I like to call West East) is still part of Indonesia. This coffee has aromatics of walnut, cocoa, and wood. The cup is heavy and earthy with notes of dark chocolate, cedar, walnut, earth, and a subtle tropical fruit sweetness that comes through on the finish.
