A quarter of a century ago (that’s 25 years for all you non-math folks!), Faver Ninco began his coffee journey when he learned most of what he knows from his father and neighbors. Then, a handful of years ago, he became interested in specialty coffee and its varieties. This interest came in conjunction with his four children’s involvement in their coffee operation as well. Now, each of the family members owns their own coffee plants and selects the varieties they want to grow to contribute to the growth of the farm. This lot is 100% geisha. The Coffee Quest (the green coffee partner that facilitated the purchasing of this lot) runs a yearly competition — Huila Mágico — in Colombia to highlight the coffees of the Huila region (a very popular coffee growing region). Finca Costa Rica won the 3rd Edition of this competition! This lot showcases the classic characteristics of a geisha variety — delicate and floral — alongside the complex and juicy tropical acidity that is often found in very high-grown coffees (typically 2,000+ masl).
