Prodigal
We first tasted this outstanding coffee from producer Nguisse Nare in April and purchased it right away. This was one of three coffees we selected from an exhaustive sampling of Ethiopian lots curated by Christopher Feran. Over the course of a dozen cuppings we were stunned by the huge range and depth of flavors this coffee presents, including several distinct types of stone fruit, melon, tropical fruit, and berries of every color. Nguisse maintains a strict quality standard on his farms. This coffee is from his newer farm in Kokose, where he floats his cherry to remove defects, then dries them on raised beds for 20 days.
