About This Coffee
Agustin Gonzales grows the Lempira coffee variety on his farm ‘EL MATAZANO’ in the Intibuca region. Complex, clear and lively. A coffee with notes reminiscent of ripe plums, red berries, sweet nougat and chocolate. Tastes like yogurt with stone fruit and lemon in the aftertaste. Juicy when it cools. Agustin C. Gonzales Farm ‘EL MATAZANO’ is located in the municipality of Pozo Negro. Augustin grows Lempira, a variety typical of Honduras that is a cross between Timor and Caturra. El Matazano is a little further away from Augustin's house and his processing station. So he has to transport each of his coffee cherries from the farm here. His three horses come to his aid, patiently walking the 35-minute journey and carrying up to 100 kilograms of coffee cherries.
