About This Coffee
Coffee has been part of the Ndwiga family for generations. Nginda Estates is a family-owned coffee farm located in Nginda Ward, Embu County, Kenya. The name “Nginda” comes from the family matriarch’s middle name, Wanginda, and also reflects the name of the area itself. The pulping station was set up in 1998 and has been in operation ever since. The farm sits on the eastern slopes of Mt. Kenya, with coffee grown between 1600 and 1900 meters above sea level. They grow SL28 and SL34 varieties across 13 acres of land, with around 5000 coffee trees. A small but deeply rooted estate, built on heritage and a strong connection to place.
