Prodigal
We're thrilled to bring you our first Kenyan gem of the season - this clean, washed coffee shines with summer peaches, currant, and white wine. Kiambu County rests on the slopes of the Aberdare Range, and Komothai is especially well-endowed with rich red volcanic soils. For over 60 years, Komothai Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) has been producing quality coffee at their various washing stations across Kenya. Only red ripe cherries were selected before being pulped and fermented for 16-24 hours. No soaking is done during fermentation. Then the cherries were washed and laid to dry on raised beds for 14-20 days.
