La Esmerelda is located in Pitalito, where three major Colombian mountain ranges meet. Alexander has completed the Caravela PECA curriculum and is PECA certified. The program arms producers with the know-how to improve coffee quality, covering seed selection, planting, soil treatment, pest control, ripe picking, de-pulping, fermentation and parchment drying. The PECA program has helped Alexander and Leidy reach their specialty coffee goals, which has led to better incomes and profits for Finca La Esmerelda. Expect a sweet and bright cup boasting flavour notes of peach and bergamot.
