Stitch Coffee
Sydney NSW, Australia
Many hands make light work of this unique batch of peaberry beans from Yara Farm in Kiambu County. Run by local residents (Gatatha Farmers Co. Ltd), the coffee plants at Yara Farm are grown in good company among Gravellier trees and Kenyan tea crops 1,732 metres above sea level. Peaberries—an anomaly where one bean instead of two grow inside the coffee cherry—are sweetness amplified, a component further enhanced by wet processing, fermentation, and a sunning on drying beds. The result is a high-acidity coffee with notes of lime zest, blackcurrant, and sugar plum.
