Father’s Coffee Rostery
Ostrava, Czechia
Gakuyuini Processing Station is less than 1.5 hours from Nairobi on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya. Around this station at an altitude of 1600-1700 meters above sea level, 674 women and 879 men grow three main varieties of coffee: SL 28, SL 34 and Ruir 11. Their work includes careful sorting, peeling, fermentation, washing and subsequent drying on African beds for up to 21 days in the sun. This attention to detail, combined with unique regional characteristics, allows Gakuyuini to produce high-quality coffees that capture the essence of the region, reflecting both the fertile volcanic soil and the devoted passion of its farmers.
