About This Coffee

It is a very particular coffee due to the Giling Basah milling process, the method used to remove the pulp from the cherry. It has an aroma of cinnamon and cloves with a base of dark chocolate and light strawberry notes. Do you dare to taste it? A new generation cooperative This batch comes from the Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative made up of 320 members who live and farm on a plateau at the foot of Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra. Mount Kerinci is one of many volcanoes in the Pacific Ring of Fire, a 40,000-kilometer series of 452 horseshoe-shaped volcanoes that are part of a nearly constant dance of eruptions and plate movements. The historic eruptions of Mount Kerinci have ensured that the area surrounding the mount is lush and green with very fertile volcanic soil. The cooperative is managed by Triyono, who leads members in processing and roasting their own coffees. They have a fully equipped roasting facility, including a tasting lab, next to the dry mill. This is especially impressive considering that the cooperative was founded in mid-2017!
