Yandaro Station is located near the Rwandan border in Kayanza province. The washing station is located in the valley where the eponymous Yandaro River flows. The area around the station has the advantage of being close to the Kibira Rainforest. A rainforest helps maintain groundwater supplies and the right nutrient levels in the soil for the region around it. The station serves more than 3,190 local coffee farmers from the 22 hills surrounding the station. The average altitude of the area is 1,800 meters. Yandaro processes more than 1,200 tons of coffee during the harvest season. The region has a mild climate, with average temperatures between 18 and 25 °C depending on altitude.
