Ceto coffee roasters
Aberdeen Township, NJ, USA
This fully washed coffee from Karatina, in Kenya’s Nyeri region, is expressive and complex, offering dark cherry and peaches and cream sweetness balanced by a floral lift of oregano blossoms on the nose. The cup is structured and clean, with a silky body and vibrant acidity that lingers through a sweet, slightly-herbaceous and floral finish. This lot is composed of SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varietals, grown by smallholder farmers delivering to Mugaga F.C.S, which includes Kagumoini, Kieni, Gathugu, Kiambara, and Gatina factories. Cherries are hand-picked and delivered same-day to the wet mill, where they undergo rigorous sorting and washed processing with recirculated river water before sun drying on raised beds.
