Gicherori AA is a coffee produced in the typical cooperative structure in the region of Embu. As is the traditional way, this coffee is processed with a dry fermentation whilst the coffee cherry is fully intact, before being washed and graded in channels. After which, the beans are dried on raised beds. The result of this care and attention to detail is a flavour profile which is complex and classically Kenyan. The coffee is well-balanced and structured, with notes of red berries, red currants, and plums. In the finish, we experience jasmine-like florals. A truly delightful coffee! This will be your last chance to experience fresh and exciting Kenyan from us until the beginning of the next harvest season, so if these kinds of coffees are up your alley, don’t hesitate for too long! We have omni-roasted this lot, which means it can be preferred just as well as filter coffee, or as espresso.
