Upon grounding, a fragrant bouquet of white peach, bergamot, cranberry, and blossoms emerges. The cup begins with lemon zest and Earl Grey tea notes, layered with ripe peach. Florals linger throughout, while cranberry and blackcurrant brighten the finish with a tart yet graceful lift. Selected and curated by Berg Wu, 2016 World Barista Champion and owner of Simple Kaffa, this exclusive coffee selection brings forth the unparalleled quality and complexity that Machakos is known for. This Machakos Lot has been handpicked by Berg Wu to highlight the delicate flavors of Kenyan coffee. Machakos County is is lesser-known than the highly competitive central counties of Kiambu, Kirinyaga and Nyeri. None the less, it is capable of producing high quality coffee as the altitude is higher and much more elevated than the rest of the other production area. This lot is a AB lot and processed as traditional Kenyan process and produced by the Machacos Cooperative union.
