About This Coffee
This Mexican coffee has an intense sweetness and a juicy, peach-like acidity. The washed process has given it a transparent profile that lets the quality of the coffee and its terroir shine through, leaving a vibrant body and an effervescent, long-lasting finish. Located in the state of Oaxaca in the south west of Mexico, the Grupo Lovene San Juan Ozolotepec coffee farm enjoys a diverse climate ideal for growing coffee. The Comunidad San AndrΓ©s Lovene is nestled in a valley, not far from Mexico's southern coastline. Located between 1500 and 1900 metres above sea level, the Grupo is made up of several smaller Fincas, who hand-harvest their cherries at their ripest point before delivering them to the group's central processing facility. Here, the coffee is pulped, fermented for 24 hours, and then filled into a tank where any remaining mucilage, slime or detritus is washed away with clean water. These freshly laundered beans are then laid out onto beds to be dried.
