About This Coffee
This exceptionally tasty single origin comes to us courtesy of Oscar and Francisca Chacón, two 3rd-generation coffee producers in the Alajuela district of Costa Rica. When a 2008 earthquake disrupted their access to power and water, Francisca used her knowledge of African coffee production and built raised drying beds on the farm, switching their model from washed-process to natural coffees. The circumstances were incredibly challenging, but the results were exceptional, yielding coffees such as this one, which issues forth a lovely bouquet of toffee, lemon sorbet, and chocolate truffle. It’s a world-class coffee from some world-class people, and we’re thrilled that we got to roast it.
