About This Coffee

In 1999, Omar Rodriguez founded the initiative "Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada, COCAFCAL". COCAFCAL is committed to making better use of environmental, financial and human resources to improve both the quality of life for local families and the quality of coffee grown in the Copan region. The village of Copucas is located in western Honduras very close to the well-known national park "Celaque" (translated as "water box"). Due to the good soil and climate conditions, the land around this small village is ideal for growing coffee. 181 tons of green coffee are produced annually, and this is sold out in full just a few weeks after the end of the harvest.
