Ethiopian Heirloom coffee from the Gedeb, Yirgacheffe region. The Chelbessa washing station is directly supported by 486 smallholder farms, which grow their coffee either in semi-forest coniditons (farmers tending naturally-grown coffee trees), and garden conditions (coffee trees that are cultivated near a farmers' residence). By sourcing exclusively from these farms, new opportunities are created for smallholder farmers whose coffee might not have been marketable as premium specialty coffee by giving farmers access to state-of-the-art processing through modern washing stations which creates value for farmers while building consistency and quality.
