When the opportunity arose to create our first collaborative product with another roaster, we looked to the global stage. We’ve partnered with Fritz Coffee of Korea, whose dedication to quality and craftsmanship mirrors our own. By exchanging green (unroasted) coffee from some of our best suppliers, we crafted a product that reaches new horizons and celebrates our shared commitment to excellence. This coffee pairing bursts with juicy notes of apple and blueberry complemented by soft melon flavors. Drawing inspiration from the global specialty coffee community, collaborative products broaden perspectives and ways of sharing coffee. In this spirit, we partnered with Fritz Coffee, an inspirational and like-minded company, to create Gemini. Counter Culture’s commitment to quality and transparency has set industry standards, while Fritz Coffee, established in 2014 in Seoul, Korea, is renowned for cutting-edge branding and guest-centric service. Tasting each other’s coffees and discussing our approach, we decided that exchanging green (unroasted) coffee would be the best way to offer something fresh and unique to our customers. We also sent a team to Korea to work directly with the Fritz crew, popping up at their flagship cafe and learning their service ethos: "your coworker is your first customer." We chose a naturally processed coffee from Fritz’s partner, Herbazú, in Costa Rica. Founded by José Antonio Barrantes Zuñiga (Toño) and his siblings, Herbazú led Costa Rica's micro-mill revolution, selling directly to exporters and roasters. The family continues to innovate with advanced processing techniques and new coffee varieties, earning the Bandera Azul award for environmental practices. Herbazú has had a profound impact on coffee growing and processing in Costa Rica and the family is highly respected. Fritz selected Gesha microlots from our partner, Incahuasi, in Peru. Nestled deep within the Incahuasi Valley, seven hours from the cooperative’s warehouse in Andahuaylas, Lucio Luque and Eudis Orosco exclusively cultivate Gesha variety coffee. Finding Gesha on remote farms worldwide is not surprising, but preserving its exquisite flavor to reach cups halfway across the globe is a small miracle. Despite logistical challenges, a connected global coffee community makes such exceptional coffees possible. Together with Fritz and our respective supply chain partners, we've crafted Gemini, a product that celebrates specialty coffee's commitment to quality and exploration. Gemini embraces new experiences and nurtures relationships, bringing joy and excitement to our community.
