About This Coffee

Colectivo’s history with Kulaktik dates back to 1998 when we were introduced to the cooperative through its Milwaukee sister parish. Located in the highlands of Chiapas, the group now boasts more than 250 members who grow coffee at elevations ranging from 1,350 to 1,800 meters. After years of dependence on outside organizations, Kulaktik – meaning “vine” in the Mayan language Tzeltal – now carries its own export license and continues to focus on quality improvements. The result is a coffee rich in flavors of plum, dark chocolate, and concord grape with a medium body. We’re proud of our longstanding relationship with the co-op and look forward to seeing their progress over the years to come. Enjoy!
