About This Coffee

Burundi is dominated by thousands and thousands of smallholder farmers who organize and sell their coffees as part of a cooperative. Therefore a single purchased lot of coffee can impact many lives. The micro-climate of the hills and mountains in Ngozi in combination with fertile soil is perfect to grow coffee. Gashinkanwa means ‘is offered’ - they used this name for the washing station because they wanted to show that they offered great coffee, work and prosperity to the local community.
