Obscure Coffee Roasters
Brooklyn, NY, USA
We're excited to share our first direct-trade coffee offering. This coffee comes from the mountains of Utuado, Puerto Rico, and was produced by Amet Rosado Jirau. Amet comes from 3 generations of coffee farmers, dating back over 100 years. Before Amet took over, the farm went unused for about 30 years. This time gave the soil time to heal and get full of nutrients. This coffee was grown at 1,000 feet above sea level, shaded by guaba trees (not to be confused with the guava fruit.) The honey process imparts great sweetness, and we tasted notes of berries and guava.
