Onibus Coffee
Tokyo, Japan
New Kenyan coffee from Gathaithi factory, Nyeri region has arrived! This coffee has bright citric acidity. You will also enjoy sweetness like stonefruits and honey with smooth mouthfeel. Gathaithi Factory is a cooperatve made up of 1656 farmers. The Nyeri area is surrounded by Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges. The soil type there, volcanic ash, is rich in nutrients, which are inevitable for plant growth. The altitude ,1720 masl, is quite high in Africa and the temperature ranges between 16-26°C. Since the production area is close to the equator, there are two harvest seasons in a year, and the microclimate is suitable for coffee production. In order to support the livelihoods of farm members, Gathhaithi Factory provides support for children's school expenses, and for emergency needs based on the previous year's harvest. Those supports are made possible through cooperation with an organization called Coffee Management Service. They produce high-quality coffee, but they also make efforts to improve the lives of coffee producers.
