During the first cupping in the house of our friends Marysabel and Moises in Marcala, it was clear to us that this year we also wanted to bring the natural geisha from our beloved Finca El Puente to Hamburg. This coffee is so incredibly bright, sweet and juicy. Moises Herrera simply knows exactly what a variety needs to be happy. The very sensitive geisha plant, for example, does not like wind, as its roots do not extend so deep into the earth and it feels most comfortable as in a nest. To do this, she needs some sun, she likes it best under the shade of pine trees at an altitude of 1500m. El Pino one of the plots of Finca El Puente, is such a place. Moises has been growing geisha here on 4ha of land since 2007. After picking, the cherries are dried in the garden of Marysabel and Moise's house on raised beds as natural for around 30 days. So much care tastes like passion fruit, lime and mint.
