This coffee has been produced by a group of indigenous (Lenca) women from the Marcala Region, who have developed leadership, administration, and small business capacities to improve their income and self esteem through the women's program developed by Pacayal Coffee. This program also includes poultry farms, wine production, products derived from aloe vera including soaps and shampoos, plantain chips, sweets derived from fruits like guava, orange, nance, and others. Finally, they also make artisan crafts and jewelry.
