The village of El Corazón is located in the province of San Ignacio, district of Chirinos, three hours by truck from the city of Jaén. To get to Finca El Cerro required another one hour walk, the landscape, indescribably beautiful, with altitudes of up to 2300m, a lot of native shade and virgin forests that belong to the Tabaconas Namballe Sanctuary. Arriving at the village of El Corazón, Efraín and María always receive us, after a few years of working with them we have realized that there are few coffee professionals as dedicated to their work as Efraín and María, who produce the best coffee in Chirinos and one of the best in Peru. His rigorous attention to detail and meticulous practices throughout the process are present every time you sit down to enjoy your coffee. The perfectly ripe and harvested Caturra Amarilla variety provides the drink with an incredible intensity of tropical fruits, while the extreme heights above 2,000 meters add a floral complexity with which it competes hand-in-hand with the best African coffees. In 2017, Efrain received second place in the first competition of the Peru Cup of Excellence, after having been evaluated more than 3000 coffees throughout Peru. It has also won the local competition "Quality Coffee Contest in Chirinos" for three consecutive times, achieving record prices in the auctions that have not yet been beaten. This is the first year that we are going to work with coffees from Efraín and María and we are very happy to have the opportunity to share this coffee with you.
