Fazenda Anhumas is located near the town of Mococa in the Mogiana region, a horseback ride away from the famous region of Minas Gerais. This coffee comes from a collective of farms, including Fazenda Anhumas and a handful of small neighboring farms. Our Brazilian partner FAF works with the owners of the Anhumas farm and their quality standards and agricultural practices are followed, resulting in a wonderful cup. This red catuaí variety is cultivated at about 1100 meters above sea level and harvested between June and September. It is processed using the natural method, sun-dried on patios. In the state of Sao Paulo, you can find one of the most well-known regions of Brazil: Mogiana. It is in this area that the first coffee farm was founded in 1817 in the Paraiba Valley. In Sao Paulo state there is Santos harbor, the main exporting port of Brazil. The state of Sao Paulo is composed of two main areas of coffee production: Mogiana and West center. Mogiana region bears the name of a railway company "Companhia Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro", which created the "railway of coffee" in 1883. This considerably improved available transportation but also increased coffee production in the area. Mogiana has a great altitude for growing coffee, located between 800 and 1100 meters, with a constant yearly temperature of about 20°C, and hilly lands. It is a great terroir for producing high-quality coffee and brews a decent cup, well balanced and sweet.
