Beginning as a passion project on a popcorn popper, Backporch Coffee Roasters has evolved into an elegant, innovative, and sustainable craft. Sourcing 100% Arabica beans from all over the world, each batch is roasted to precision, highlighting a journey of flavor from seed to cup and proudly serving coffee across the Pacific Northwest. Sourcing directly from indigenous farms, our coffee touches over 100 hands before being served to our local and regional customers. This direct trade method establishes excellence from seed to cup; honoring and compensating farmers fairly in their dedication to harvest the coffee crop. We have direct relationships with farmers in El Salvador, Burundi, Colombia, Costa Rica, and more! Our high-quality coffees are purchased and freshly roasted to showcase their flavor profiles. We roast on a Falcon Loring Roaster, manufactured by previous NASA scientists. Our sustainability is seen primarily in the roasting process, as the Loring allows us to save up to 80% on fuel and produce smokeless coffee comparatively to conventional roasters. Over the course of nearly two decades, Owner and Operator Dave Beach’s expertise in the industry, consistency from an unmatched quality roaster, and love for his hometown—a devoted community of coffee lovers and staff of over 30 employees has evolved. Four cafes, a roastery, and service to avid coffee drinkers across the Pacific Northwest later, Backporch showcases coffee as it’s meant to be.
