Ultimo Coffee is owned by Aaron and Elizabeth Ultimo. They met working in a DC coffee shop, and then moved to Philadelphia to open their own. They opened a café in the Newbold neighborhood of South Philly in 2009. In 2012, they opened a second location in the nearby Graduate Hospital neighborhood. In December of 2017 Ultimo Coffee Rittenhouse opened just off of historic Rittenhouse park. March of 2019 saw the opening of a large café and bakery in the heart of Germantown. Since first opening, Ultimo Coffee has been committed to brewing and serving the best coffee they can while serving and getting to know four really fantastic neighborhoods. In 2016, Ultimo Coffee Roasters sprang out of Ultimo Coffee. With a roastery and lab also located in Newbold, Ultimo Coffee Roasters is now able to select and roast their favorite coffees, and then deliver that fresh coffee directly into your hands. We are passionate about coffee, service, and quality, and feel privileged and grateful to be able to bring you those things. Ultimo Coffee was one of the first specialty coffee shops to open in Philadelphia, and we are very proud and happy to be part of the vibrant and extensive coffee community that has since blossomed in the city. Each quarter of the year, we donate 5% of our net profits to organizations/causes that are important to us, and that we recognize to be doing important work in our region and in the world. The list of organizations to which we’ve contributed include the ACLU, NAACP, Asylum Seekers Advocacy Project, Black Lives Matter PHL, Philly Bail Fund, Planned Parenthood, UNICEF, and most recently: Nationalities Service Center, HIAS Pennsylvania, International Rescue Committee — all doing work to help with Afghan refugees and evacuees. If you are interested in being considered for in our quarterly donations, please email us.
